LOCATIONS

From the unspoiled beaches of Agadir to the dynamic centre of commerce that is Marrakech, Morocco offers a wealth of exotic locations to the event organiser.

Marrakech

Between the eternal snows of the Atlas Mountains and the burning desert sand, Marrakech has been fashioned just like a work of art. Over the years, wonderful palaces , great mosques, impressive monuments, riads and luxurious gardens emerged from the ground. This fabled city pulsates with energy. Every road leads to the famous Jemaa el Fna Square where there is always a kaleidoscope of colour and activity. Here musicians, dancers and fire eaters rub shoulders with public scribes, story tellers, acrobats and vendors of fresh orange juice and roasted nuts. In the evening the lamps are lit and the hot food stalls are set up. Before long the balm of nightfall is accompanied by the delicious smells of roasting meats, couscous, harira and freshly baked doughnuts.

There is a strong tradition in Morocco of high quality craftwork and in Marrakech the leatherwork is of a particular high quality.

Casablanca

The financial capital and internationally expanding metropolis, Casablanca owes its name to the white houses gently growing old along its ramparts. Completely rebuilt from 1920 onwards, it is now a perfect example of successful colonial urban development. Situated on the Atlantic Coast it has the largest artificial port in the world and is the biggest city in Morocco resulting in excellent connections with the rest of the country by air, road or rail.

During the day Casablanca is alive with dynamism, during the evening visitors can taste the sea breeze on the famous sea front and enjoy its fashionable restaurants, nightclubs and hotels such as the Royal Mansour, Hyatt Regency and many more. With is broad tree lined boulevards, modern architecture and abundance of cafe life, Casablanca has an atmosphere all of its own.

Agadir

If you are looking for a beautiful unspoiled stretch of coast, Agadir is the perfect base. Agadir is the place for sailing, surfing, galloping along the beach on horseback, scuba diving, parachuting over the sea or just getting one of the best sun tans North Africa can offer. Protected by the surrounding foothills of the Atlas Mountains, Agadir boasts a glorious climate with over 300 days of sunshine which rarely falls below 70ºF in Winter or rises above 85ºF in summer.

The Exotic South: Ouarzazate

No exploration of Morocco is complete without the romance of this exotic journey. Through palm-fringed oases or along the ‘Route of the Thousand Kasbahs’ passing former Foreign Legion outposts and the massive height of the Atlas Mountains, you make your way to the very edge of the Sahara Desert.

Over the High Atlas from Marrakech, this inland resort is the mini-Hollywood of Morocco, with its first class hotels to satisfy the needs of film makers and tourists alike. This former French Foreign Legion outpost on the fringe of the Sahara region is an excellent touring base.

Ouarzazate is also the ideal base for those who are looking for an active and adventurous experience. From here it is possible to set off into the desert , sleep in Berber tents and eat lamb spit-roasted over a campfire while making stops at fortified hill villages, sand citadels and luxurious oases.
